Health and Safety in the workshop Equipment (PPE) - Commonly known as Personal Protective
Why do we need to wear dust masks, safety glasses and ear defenders
Dust masks
The lungs, eg from breathing in contaminated air
Sanding or sawing wood, metal or plastic surfaces
Working with MDF has its disadvantages such as:
Formaldehyde resins are used to bind the fibres together that make MDF, so it is good working practice to wear a dust mask when working with this material.
Safety glasses
There are staggering figures that drive home the importance of protecting the eyes of workers both through engineering controls and via personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses; goggles; hybrid eye safety products, which combine the comfort of glasses with the side protection of goggles; face shields.
If you have an old, worn or damaged piece of furniture, then we may be able to repair and allow it to be returned to its original condition. If not, we may also be able to upcycle to create something new and unique from it!
